Hear Ryan Bradshaw speak out against the Bed Tax at the Rally this Saturday, 1.30pm Albert Square at the March Against All Cuts

The Tories are planning to introduce the bedroom tax from April 1st. This will cut 14% off housing benefit if a household has one ‘spare’ bedroom and 25% for two. Households across Greater Manchester will have £25 million taken from their pockets

More than 14,000 families in Manchester living in social housing will face the stark choice of moving home or being plunged into hardship and debt under new Government proposals. Manchester has the highest level of child poverty in Britain.

Two thirds of households affected by the cut are households with disabled people who have a spare room for their carer to stay in or who for other reasons have made alterations to their homes.

This open planning meeting is initiated by Manchester Coalition Against Cuts, Young Lawyers Group, Defend Council Housing, Community Activists,  Manchester Disabled People Against the Cuts. This meeting is to bring people together, work out the best strategy to beat the Bedroom Tax, and to help set up campaigns and actions across the City.
